DEPARTMENT OF JUVENILE SERVICES

40.01.01                              OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY

(A)    Juvenile Services Facilities. Provide grants to acquire, design,
construct, renovate, and equip residential and non-residential
facilities. The funds appropriated for this purpose shall be
administered in accordance with Sections 4-101 through 4-106 of
Article 83C - Juvenile Services (Statewide).....................................

(B)    Baltimore City Juvenile Justice Center. Acquire property and
prepare detailed plans for a comprehensive juvenile justice center,
provided that no funds may be expended prior to receipt of a report to
be jointly submitted by Baltimore City and the Department of Juve
nile
Services on the selection of an agreed upon site for the Baltimore City
Juvenile Justice Center and the budget committees have reviewed and
commented on the report, or the passage of 90 days from receipt of the
report
, provided that no funds may be expended prior to receipt of a
report to be jointly submitted by the Department of Juvenile Services
and the Baltimore City government on the selection of an agreed upon
site for the Baltimore City Juvenile Justice Center and the budget
committees have reviewed and commented on the report, or the
passage of 90 days from receipt of the report. The report shall: (1)
describe all actions taken by the Department and Baltimore City in
selecting the facility site; (2) summarize efforts taken by the
Department and Baltimore City to inform the affected communities
about the facility and efforts to encourage community support; and (3)
