39.01.04 WATER MANAGEMENT ADMINISTRATION
(Statewide)
(A) Chesapeake Bay Water Quality Project Funds. Provide funds to be
credited to the Water Pollution Control Fund to be used for
projects to improve the water quality of the Chesapeake Bay and
other waters of the State. The funds appropriated shall be
administered for the purposes listed below in accordance with
Sections 9-345 through 9-351 of the Environment Article:
(1) To provide not more than $8,000,000 in grants for projects to
remove nutrients at publicly owned sewage treatment works;
(2) To provide not more than $2,000,000 in grants to provide
assistance to grant and loan recipients to meet the local share of
construction costs;
(3) To provide not more than $1,000,000 in grants for water
quality clean-up activities in creeks and small estuaries;
(4) To provide not more than $4,600,000 in grants for projects to
control agriculturally related nonpoint sources of pollution;
(5) To provide not more than $1,000,000 in grants for nonpoint
source pollution control retrofit projects in existing urban areas...
(B) Water Supply Financial Assistance Funds. Provide funds for
assistance to State and local government entities to acquire,
design, construct, equip, rehabilitate, and improve water supply
facilities. The funds appropriated for this purpose shall be
administered in accordance with Chapter 306 of the Acts of 1982
and in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Secretary
of the Environment set forth in the Code of Maryland Regulations
(COMAR) 26.03.09............................................................................
39.02.00 MARYLAND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICE
(A) Water and Wastewater Facilities Improvement Fund. Provide
funds to design, construct, and equip capital improvements for
State institutions. Expenditures for any of the following projects
may not exceed the amount listed below for that project by more
than 7.5% without notification to the General Assembly.
Expenditure of any part of this appropriation for a project not
listed below shall also require notification to the General
