AN ACT concerning
State Personnel - Employees of State Use Industries
FOR the purpose of placing all certain positions in the State Use Industries program in
the unclassified service of the State Personnel Management System; classifying
which positions remain in the classified service; providing for the continuation in
the classified service of certain filled positions until those positions become vacant;
authorizing the Secretary of Personnel and the Secretary of Public Safety and
Correctional Services to establish a certain incentive-based compensation plan as of
a certain date; and [providing generally for the status of positions and the
incentive-based compensation plan in the State Use Industries.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments
681J.
(a) The General Manager of State Use Industries shall have the authority to
determine the personnel needs and requirements of State Use Industries programs and
product and service industries, and shall have the appointing authority to hire all
subordinate personnel.
(b) [[Supervisory and sales] EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED BY LAW, ALL
positions in State Use Industries are in the unclassified service of the State Personnel
Management System.
(C) ALL (OFFICE SECRETARY AND OFFICE CLERK POSITIONS IN STATE USE
INDUSTRIES ARE IN THE CLASSIFIED SERVICE OF THE STATE PERSONNEL
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.
