SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 24 - Political Subdivisions - Miscellaneous Provisions

11-501.

(i) (1) In Washington County the fees for dogs shall be determined by the
County Commissioners of the county.

(2) (I) NOTWITHSTANDING SUBSECTION (A) OF THIS SECTION, THE
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF WASHINGTON COUNTY MAY PROVIDE BY ORDINANCE
THAT A DOG LICENSE SHALL EXPIRE WHEN A RABIES VACCINATION CERTIFICATION
ISSUED UNDER § 18-319(A)(3) OF THE HEALTH - GENERAL ARTICLE EXPIRES.

(II) IF THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ALTER THE DATE ON WHICH
DOG LICENSES EXPIRE, THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MAY PROVIDE THAT THE FEE
FOR A DOG LICENSE OR THE TERM OF A LICENSE SHALL BE PRORATED TO REFLECT
ALTERED LICENSE TERMS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1993.

AN ACT concerning

Queen Anne's County Treasurer - Minimum Compensation - Repeal

FOR the purpose of repealing a provision of law that requires the County Commissioners
of Queen Anne's County, a code home rule county, to set the annual salary of the
County Treasurer and that imposes certain requirements concerning the
compensation of the Treasurer and the Treasurer's handling of certain funds; and
providing that this Act does not affect the salary or compensation of the incumbent
County Treasurer.
