[(2) As provided for applicants for a license to practice property line
surveying under § 15-305 of this subtitle, the Board shall give the following 2 separate,
written or oral, examinations:

(i) an examination of the fundamentals of land surveying that are
applicable to the practice of property line surveying; and

(ii) an examination of the principles and practice of land surveying
that are applicable to the practice of property line surveying.]

(e) (1) The Board shall determine the subjects, scope, and form of and method
of grading and passing scores for the examinations given under this subtitle.

(2) The Board shall structure the examinations to test the ability of an
applicant to design, plan, and direct land surveying in order to ensure the safety of life,
health, and property.

(a)     Subject to this section, an individual may apply to the Board to take the
examination in the fundamentals of land surveying given by the Board under this subtitle,
before the individual completes the requirements set forth in § 15-305(b) and (c) of this
subtitle.

(b)     To take the fundamentals of land surveying examination early, the applicant:

(1)     shall have been graduated from a college or university on completion of
an approved curriculum, as required under § 15-305(b) of this subtitle; or

(2)     shall have:

(i) been graduated from a college or university on completion of an
unapproved curriculum, as required under § 15-305(c) of this subtitle; and

(ii) completed at least 4 of the 6 years of experience required under §
15-305(c) of this subtitle.

(c)     (1) An applicant for early examination shall:

(i) submit to the Board an application on the form that the Board
provides; and

(ii) pay to the Board an application fee set by the Board not to exceed
the cost of administering the required examination to the applicant.

(2) The procedures and requirements for the application shall be the same
as provided under § 15-306 of this subtitle for applications for licenses.

(d)     An applicant who meets the requirements of this section is entitled to take the
fundamentals of land surveying examination.

(e)     If an individual passes a fundamentals of land surveying examination under
this section, the Board:
