SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 64A - Merit System

48B.

(a) As used in this section, the following terms have the meanings indicated:

(1) "Beneficiary" means:

(i) A former employee, judge, teacher, or correctional officer
receiving a retirement allowance under the provisions of Article 73B, excluding faculty
and staff of community colleges and teachers and staff employed by local boards of
education; [or]
