(c) Each space reserved for handicappedpersons INDIVIDUALS WITH
DISABILITIES under subsection (b) shall:

(1)      Be at least 12 feet wide;

(2)      Be located to provide handicapped persons INDIVIDUALS WITH
DISABILITIES with easy accessibility to the store or shopping center] ACCESSIBLE
ROUTES, PARKING AND PASSENGER LOADING ZONES, AND CURB RAMPS IN
CONFORMITY WITH THE MARYLAND BUILDING CODE FOR THE HANDICAPPED
SHALL REMAIN OPEN, FREE, AND CLEAR OF OBSTRUCTION FOR THE USE OF
INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES WITH VALID SPECIAL REGISTRATION PLATES,
REMOVABLE WINDSHIELD PLACARDS, AND TEMPORARY REMOVABLE WINDSHIELD
PLACARDS ISSUED UNDER TITLE 13, SUBTITLE 6 OF THIS ARTICLE
.

[(d) (1) (i)] (C)[Subject to subparagraph (ii) below, each] EACH space
reserved for a [handicapped] person WITH A DISABILITY shall be signified by a sign
[with the international symbol of access and the words "handicapped parking" on it]
THAT COMPLIES WITH THE MARYLAND BUILDING CODE FOR THE HANDICAPPED.

[(ii) All signs erected or replaced after July 1, 1982 which reserve a
space for handicapped persons shall be:

1.        In conformance with the requirements of the State manual
on uniform traffic control devices; and

2.   A. Attached to a post permanently anchored in the ground; or

B. Permanently attached to a building, structure, wall, or other
immovable object in a manner that clearly indicates to a driver that the space is reserved
for handicapped persons.

(2) (i) Except as provided in this paragraph, the bottom edge of the sign
shall be at least 7 feet above the ground.
