The Attorney General shall:

(1)  Designate an assistant to receive from employees
any disclosure of information the privacy or confidentiality of
which is protected pursuant to [Article 76A - Public Information]
TITLE 10, SUBTITLE 6 OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT ARTICLE;

(2)  Investigate any allegation of illegality or
impropriety made by an employee pursuant to a disclosure of
information the privacy or confidentiality of which is protected
pursuant to [Article 76A - Public Information] TITLE 10, SUBTITLE
6 OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT ARTICLE;

Occurred: As a result of Ch. 284, Acts of 1984, which
repealed Article 76A and recodified the provisions
relating to confidentiality of records in Title 10,
Subtitle 6 of the State Government Article.

18.

(f) The Secretary shall control all examinations and may
designate as special examiners any officers or employees of this
State or any other person not in the service [or] OF this State
to conduct and hold such examinations as the Secretary may direct
and to make return and report thereof to him. The Secretary
shall have power to review the findings in all such reports, and
may order new examinations if he deems such action desirable.
The Secretary may at any time substitute any other person in the
place of any person so designated and may himself conduct such
examinations without designating special examiners.
