COUNTY LOCAL LAWS
amend the aforesaid Chapter and Sections of the Wicomico County
Code, in order to establish specific procedures to protect
residents of the County from certain nuisances affecting
established subdivisions, mobile home parks and apartment
developments and in order to establish additional measures
necessary to help preserve, protect and stabilize the value of
residential properties in the County;

BILL 17 - 1988
AN ACT to amend Chapter 133 of the Wicomico County Code,
titled "DOGS" by malting changes and additions to Section 133-14
titled, "Killing wild or vicious dogs"; Section 133-18, titled
"Release of vicious or rabid dogs; penalties"; Section 133-20,
titled "Violations and penalties", by amending said section and
changing the title of said section to "Dogs attacking animals or
humans" and by adding Section 133.21, to be titled "Violations
and penalties", as previously provided in Section 133-20, and
making changes thereto; and by changing the designation of
Section 133-21, titled "Fees" and renumbering same to be Section
133-22.
WHEREAS, the County Council of Wicomico County, Maryland,
finds it advisable to amend said Chapter 133, Sections 14, 18,
20, 21, and 22 to more adequately facilitate the handling of
stray dogs and cats;

BILL 18 - 1988
AN ACT to amend Chapter 203 of the Wicomico County Code,
titled "Taxation" by repealing and reenacting with amendments,
Section 203-1, titled "Tax Imposed" under Article I, titled "Tax
on Recorded Instruments", to increase the tax imposed on
instruments conveying title to property and securing debts,
recorded with the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Wicomico County,
and to amend Section 230-2 of said Chapter to provide for the
effective date thereof.
WHEREAS, the County Council of Wicomico County hereby finds
an emergency measure amending the Taxation Chapter of the
Wicomico County Code, to provide for an increase in the
recordation tax affecting the recordation of instruments
conveying title and securing debt is required in order to
alleviate a threat to the health, safety and welfare of the
citizens of Wicomico County;
