COUNTY LOCAL LAWS

RESOLUTION proposing to amend Section 209(c) "Procedure for
passage of laws" of Article II "The Legislative Branch" of the
Howard County Charter to provide that a public hearing shall be
held on all resolutions of confirmation of Executive and Council
appointments; and submitting this amendment to the voters of
Howard County for their acceptance or rejection in accordance
with Article X of the Howard County Charter.

Approved by voters at General Election November 8, 1988.

Resolution No. 115

RESOLUTION proposing to amend Section 212 "County Auditor"
of Article II "The Legislative Branch" of the Howard County
Charter to provide for the publication of a notice of
availability of an audit report and to give the County Auditor
authority to conduct other financial and management audits; and
submitting this amendment to the voters of Howard County for
their acceptance or rejection in accordance with Article X of the
Howard County Charter.

Approved by voters at General Election November 8, 1988.

Resolution No. 116

RESOLUTION proposing to amend Section 302(b)
"Qualifications" of Article III "The Executive Branch" of the
Howard County Charter to provide that the County Executive be a
resident of the county for not less than five years immediately
prior to election and a registered voter at the time of filing
for candidacy; and that no person shall serve as Executive while
holding any other office of profit or trust under County, State,
or Federal government and that no Executive shall hold any other

County, State, or Federal office, position, or employment

carrying compensation;, while employed by the county or entity
receiving funds through the county budget and that the Executive
shall not be eligible for any county appointment any county
office or position or eligible for employment by the County; and
submitting this amendment to the voters of Howard County for
their acceptance or rejection in accordance with Article X of the
Howard County Charter.
