(B) SCOPE OF LIMITED LICENSES.

(1)  WHILE A 34-FOOT-DRAFT LIMITED LICENSE IS IN
EFFECT, IT AUTHORIZES THE LICENSEE TO PROVIDE PILOTAGE FOR
VESSELS NOT EXCEEDING 34-FOOT-DRAFT.

(2)  WHILE A 28-FOOT-DRAFT LIMITED LICENSE IS IN
EFFECT, IT AUTHORIZES THE LICENSEE TO PROVIDE PILOTAGE FOR
VESSELS NOT EXCEEDING 28-FOOT-DRAFT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the third clause and,
as it related to the scope of licenses, the second
clause of the first sentence of former Art. 74, § 3.

In subsections (a) and (b) of this section, the term
"draft" is substituted for the former term "draught",
to conform to contemporary usage.

Also in subsections (a) and (b) of this     section, the

former term "warrants of appointment"   is deleted as

obsolete and unnecessary in light of the   defined terms
"licenses" and "limited licenses".

11-408. TERM AND RENEWAL OF LICENSES.

(A)  TERM OF LICENSES.

UNLESS A LICENSE IS RENEWED FOR A 2-YEAR TERM AS PROVIDED IN
THIS SECTION, THE LICENSE EXPIRES ON THE FIRST MAY 30 THAT COMES:

(1)  AFTER THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THE LICENSE; AND

(2)  IN AN EVEN-NUMBERED YEAR.

(B)  RENEWAL NOTICE.

AT LEAST 1 MONTH BEFORE A LICENSE EXPIRES, THE BOARD SHALL
MAIL TO THE LICENSEE, AT THE LAST KNOWN ADDRESS OF THE LICENSEE:

(1)  A RENEWAL APPLICATION FORM; AND

(2)  A NOTICE THAT STATES:

(I) THE DATE ON WHICH THE CURRENT LICENSE
EXPIRES;
