any members of the General Assembly may observe the proceedings
if they wish. Moreover, public participation and comment at
Commission meetings is also permitted, and contributions from
members of the General Assembly would undoubtedly be encouraged
and welcome, whether they are technically nonvoting members or
not.

House Bill No. 1131

AN ACT concerning

Maryland Housing Policy Commission -
Nonvoting Members and Staff

FOR the purpose of requiring the Chairman of the Senate Economic
and Environmental Affairs Committee, Senate Budget and
Taxation Committee, House Economic Matters Committee, and
House Appropriations Committee, or their designees, to serve
as nonvoting members of the Maryland Housing Policy
Commission; repealing the requirement that the Secretary of
Housing and Community Development provided staff to the
Commission; and authorizing the Commission to hire staff, as
provided in the State budget.

BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,

Article 83B - Department of Housing and Community

Development
Section 8-101, 8-102, 8-104, 8-105, 8-201, 8-202, and 8-203
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1988 Replacement Volume)

BY repealing

Article 83B - Department of Housing and Community

Development

Annotated Code of Maryland
(1988 Replacement Volume)

BY adding to
