Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 83B - Department of Housing and Community Development

8-101.

There is a Maryland Housing Policy Commission to assist the
Secretary in identifying opportunities to increase the housing
supply for individuals of low and moderate income and to increase
opportunities for the home ownership by those individuals.

8-102.

The Commission shall consist of 15 members who shall be
appointed by the Governor from the various regions of the State
and shall include:

(1)  1 citizen actively engaged in the residential
building industry;

(2)  1 citizen actively engaged in the banking or
mortgage banking industry;

(3)  2 local public officials involved with housing
and community development activities;

(4)  1 citizen who is a resident of government
assisted housing;

(5)  1 citizen who is a member of a neighborhood
organization or civic group concerned with promoting low income
housing; and

(6)  9 members of the public at large.

[8-103.

The Speaker of the House of Delegates or his designee and
the President of the State Senate or his designee shall serve as
nonvoting members of the Commission.]
