treasurer. [It is further provided that when and at such time
as] IF the county treasurer [shall determine that he is in need
of] DETERMINES THAT additional assistance IS REQUIRED, the County
Commissioners shall provide [the] additional [employee or
employees required] STAFF and shall pay [such] EACH employee [or
employees] a salary [which shall be determined] SET by the County
Commissioners.

[(2)] (3) The deputy treasurer may not be related to
the county treasurer by blood or [marriage, and before entering
upon his duties] MARRIAGE, BEFORE BEGINNING THE DUTIES OF DEPUTY
TREASURER, THE DEPUTY TREASURER shall execute a bond as required
by the Public Local Laws of Garrett County. The deputy treasurer
shall have a thorough knowledge of bookkeeping and related
subjects, and the duties of the deputy treasurer shall be
prescribed by the county treasurer. The deputy treasurer shall
receive an annual salary from the County Commissioners not less
than $4,200, which is to be paid in equal monthly installments.

Article 33 - Election Code

1-1.

(a)  As used in this article the following terms shall have
the meanings indicated unless a contrary meaning is clearly
intended from the context in which the term appears:

(2) "Board" means one of the various boards of
supervisors of elections in the subdivisions of the State and the
members thereof.

2-3.

(b)  (1) Except as provided in paragraphs (2) and (3) of
this subsection, each substitute member of the board shall
receive compensation for each day he serves as a member, in an
amount determined by the county commissioners, county councils,
or the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore. A substitute member
shall attend all regularly scheduled meetings of the board and
shall be compensated at a rate of not less than $25 per day.

(2)   In Garrett County, a substitute member of the
board shall receive [$40 for each meeting attended] $600 PER
YEAR.

(3)   In Wicomico County, a substitute member of the
board shall receive $1,200 per year.
