63.
(j) [In Charles County, the Clerk of the Circuit Court for
said county, shall forthwith remit to the Board of County
Commissioners of Charles County all license fees collected by
him, less the Clerk's fee, and any refunds shall be paid over by
him to the County Commissioners of Charles County, and so much of
said funds as shall be necessary shall be applied by said County
Commissioners in paying the interest and the principal of the
1937 school bonds of Charles County. If any balance remains in
any year, the said County Commissioners shall pay over to each
incorporated town in the county the total amount of license fees
paid to the said Clerk for places of business located in each
such town, respectively; and if the said balance is not
sufficient so to pay the entire amount to each town, the County
Commissioners shall determine the relative amounts of license
fees paid for places of business located in all such towns, and
shall pay over the balance to the said towns in the same
respective ratios. All such moneys paid to the said towns shall
be used for general town purposes. Any balance remaining after
such payments to the incorporated towns shall be applied by the
County Commissioners to the general funds of the county.]
(1) IN CHARLES COUNTY, THE CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT COURT
SHALL REMIT PROMPTLY TO THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS:
(I) ALL LICENSE FEES COLLECTED UNDER THIS
ARTICLE, LESS THE CLERK'S FEE; AND
(II) ANY REFUNDS PAID UNDER THIS ARTICLE.
(2) ANY AMOUNT PAID TO THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS UNDER PARAGRAPH (1) OF THIS SUBSECTION SHALL BE
APPLIED TO THE GENERAL FUND OF THE COUNTY.
(3) Any person violating any of the provisions of
PARAGRAPH (1) OF this subsection shall be punished by a fine not
exceeding [five hundred dollars ($500.00)] $500.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.
