5-306. SAME -- COSMETOLOGIST AIDE.

TO QUALIFY FOR A COSMETOLOGIST-AIDE LICENSE, AN APPLICANT
SHALL BE AT LEAST 16 YEARS OLD.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the first clause of
former Art. 56, § 479(o).

Although former Art. 56, § 481 seemed to require every
applicant for a license to practice to pass an
examination, this requirement has not been applied to
cosmetologist aides.

5-307. SAME -- LICENSE TO TEACH.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

TO QUALIFY FOR A LICENSE TO TEACH COSMETOLOGY, AN APPLICANT
SHALL BE AN INDIVIDUAL WHO MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS
SECTION.

(B)  ASSISTANT TEACHER LICENSE.

AN APPLICANT FOR AN ASSISTANT TEACHER LICENSE SHALL:

(1)  BE A LICENSED COSMETOLOGIST; AND

(2)  HAVE COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY AT LEAST 1,000 HOURS
OF TRAINING ON A 6-MONTH, FULL-TIME BASIS, OR THE PART-TIME
EQUIVALENT, IN AN ASSISTANT TEACHER PROGRAM IN A COSMETOLOGY
SCHOOL THAT HOLDS A SCHOOL PERMIT.

(C)  TEACHER LICENSE.

AN APPLICANT FOR A TEACHER LICENSE SHALL:

(1)  BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD;

(2)  BE A HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE OR THE EQUIVALENT;

(3)  BE A LICENSED COSMETOLOGIST; AND
