CHAPTER 197

(House Bill 437)

AN ACT concerning

Worcester County - Sanitary Commission - Membership

FOR the purpose of altering the number of members on the
Worcester County Sanitary Commission; specifying the terms
of the initial members added under this Act; making a
technical change; and generally relating to the Worcester
County Sanitary Commission.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - Environment

Section 9-622(a)(l) and (c)(2)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1987 Replacement Volume and 1988 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Environment

9-622.

(a) (1) The sanitary commission of each single county
district consists of the following numbers of sanitary
commissioners, each appointed by the governing body of the member
county:

(i) Allegany County[,] - 7[.];

(ii) Dorchester County[,] - 5[.];

(iii) Garrett County[,] - [.];

(iv) Kent County[,] - 5[.];

(v) Somerset County, except as provided in
paragraph (2) of this subsection[,] - 5[.];

(VI) WORCESTER COUNTY - 5; AND

[(vi)] (VII) Other counties[,] - 3[.].

(c) (2) The terms of sanitary commissioners in a single
county district are staggered as required by the terms provided
for sanitary commissioners on July 1, [1982] 1989.
