REVISOR'S NOTE: Item (1) of this section is new language
added to state expressly that which only was implied
in the former law -- i.e., each applicant must submit
an application on a form that the Board provides.

Item (2) of this section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 56, §
439(a)(5) and the first sentence of (d).

4-403. REGISTRATION AND ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATE.

THE BOARD SHALL REGISTER AS A STUDENT AND ISSUE A
CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION TO EACH APPLICANT WHO MEETS THE
REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SUBTITLE.

former Art. 56, § 433.

Defined term: "Board" § 4-101

4-404. SCOPE OF REGISTRATION.

(A)   IN GENERAL.

WHILE REGISTRATION AS A STUDENT IS IN EFFECT, THE
REGISTRATION AUTHORIZES THE INDIVIDUAL:

(1)  TO ENROLL AND PARTICIPATE AS A STUDENT IN A
BARBER SCHOOL THAT HOLDS A SCHOOL PERMIT; AND

(2)  TO PRACTICE BARBERING AT THE BARBER SCHOOL.

(B)  CONDITIONS.

(1)  A STUDENT SHALL PRACTICE BARBERING ONLY AT THE
BARBER SCHOOL.

(2)  A STUDENT MAY NOT BE PAID FOR WORK AUTHORIZED
UNDER THIS SECTION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the second and third
sentences of former Art. 56, § 433.

In subsection (a)(1) of this section, the reference to
a barber school "that holds a school permit" is added
to conform to § 4-602 of this title.
