respective public local laws and by the public general laws of
the State:
(g) The county treasurer of Charles County shall receive
[an annual salary of $20,000 through December 31, 1982 and
thereafter shall receive] an annual salary as specified in the
Charles County public local laws. The salary of the deputy
treasurer shall be determined by the County Commissioners of
Charles County. In Charles County, clerical assistants shall be
appointed by the county treasurer of the county. No
reimbursement for expenses shall be paid by the County
Commissioners to the treasurer.
Article 9 - Charles County
136-7.
A. The salary for the Treasurer [shall be as follows] IS:
(1) [Twenty six thousand dollars ($26,000.) per year]
30,500 for the calendar year [1987.] 1991;
(2) [Twenty seven thousand dollars ($27,000.) per
year] $32,000 for the calendar year [1988.] 1992;
(3) [Twenty eight thousand dollars ($28,000.) per
year] $33,500 for the calendar year [1989.] 1993, AND
(4) [Twenty nine thousand dollars ($29,000.) per
year] $35,000 for the calendar year [1990.] 1994 $35,000.
B. The treasurer [shall] MAY NOT receive [no other fees or]
ANY OTHER compensation OR FEE [whatsoever] from any other source
for the performance of [his] THE duties [as] OF Treasurer!, other
than for the sale of license tags for motor vehicles; provided,
however, that he shall receive an allowance for clerical expenses
in the amount of eight hundred dollars ($800.) per year].
C. THE TREASURER SHALL DEVOTE FULL TIME TO THE DUTIES OF
THE OFFICE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the salaries for
the Treasurer of Charles County specified in Chapter 420 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of 1985 shall remain in effect for
the remainder of the current term.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to
Article III, Section 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act
may not be construed to extend or apply to the salary or
compensation of the Treasurer of Charles County in office on the
effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act
