concerning the salary or compensation of the Treasurer of Charles
County shall take effect at the beginning of the next following
term of office.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act may not
be construed to mandate that the Treasurer of Charles County in
office on the effective date of this Act devote full time to the
duties of office, but the provisions of this Act requiring the
Treasurer of Charles County to devote full time to duties shall
take effect at the beginning of the next following term of
office.

SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.

AN ACT concerning

CHAPTER 41
(Senate Bill 671)

Charles County - Sheriff

FOR the purpose of altering the salary of the Sheriff of Charles
County; relating the salary to a certain rate under the
State Police pay plan in effect on a certain day; providing
that a change in the State Police pay plan may not apply to
the incumbent Sheriff, but that the changed rate shall take
effect at the beginning of the next following term;
requiring the Sheriff of Charles County to devote full time
to the duties of the office; providing that this Act does
not apply to the salary or compensation or time required of
the incumbent; reaffirming the salaries established in a
previous Act; and generally relating to the Sheriff of
Charles County.
