LAWS OF MARYLAND

[(c)] (3) $5 for apprentices, annual renewal fee of $5.

[(d)] (4) $100 for schools of beauty culture. Public and
parochial schools, however, are hereby declared to be exempted
from the payment of any license fees, but are subject to the
other provisions of this subtitle. Biennial renewal fees shall
be $100.

[(e)] (5) $10 for cosmetologist-aide, biennial renewal fee
of $10.

[(f)] (6) $1 for temporary license.

[(g)] (7) To renew a certificate, a manicurist:

[(1)] (I) Need only pay the renewal fee under
[subsection (b) of this section] PARAGRAPH (2) OF THIS
SUBSECTION; and

[(2)] (II) Is not required to pay the beauty shop
owner fee under [subsection (a) of this section] PARAGRAPH (1) OF
THIS SUBSECTION when practicing his or her profession in a
licensed barbershop.

[(h)] (8) $5 for students, valid for 5 years from the year
of issuance.

(C) The above fees for registration, examination and
certification shall be paid in advance to the secretary of the
Board.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of
Maryland read as follows:

Article - Business Occupations

5-310.

(a) An applicant for a license:

(1)  shall submit to the Board an application on the
form that the Board provides; and

(2)  except as provided in § 5-312 of this subtitle,
shall pay to the Board an application fee of:

(i) [$5] $10 for a license to practice
cosmetology; [or]

(ii) [$10 for any other license] $50 FOR A
LICENSE TO TEACH COSMETOLOGY OR A LIMITED PRACTICE OF
COSMETOLOGY; OR
