AN ACT concerning

State Board of Cosmetologists - Examination Fees

FOR the purpose of increasing the examination fees for all
cosmetologist licensing categories; providing for the
effective date of this Act; and generally relating to
examination fees under the State Board of Cosmetologists.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 56 - Licenses

500.

(A)   [The operator's examination fee shall be $5, and all
other examination fees shall be $10.] THE OPERATOR'S EXAMINATION
FEE SHALL BE $10. A TEACHER'S EXAMINATION FEE SHALL BE $50. ALL
OTHER EXAMINATION FEES SHALL BE $25. IF AN INDIVIDUAL SCHEDULED
TO TAKE AN EXAMINATION FAILS TO APPEAR FOR THE EXAMINATION, THE
FEE SHALL BE FORFEITED.

(B)  The registration fees for the issuance of licenses,
with or without examination, shall be as follows:

[(a)] (1) $50 for beauty shop owners, managers and
teachers, biennial renewal fee of $50.

[(b)] (2) $25 and biennial renewal fee of $25 for
operators, manicurists, cosmeticians, wig stylists, and
demonstrators.
