LAWS OF MARYLAND

Assembly of 1989. However, if Chapter ___ does not become

effective, then Section 2 of this Act shall not take effect and
shall be null and void without the necessity of further action by
the General Assembly.

CHAPTER 20

(Senate Bill 123)

AN ACT concerning

Interference with Fishing Equipment

FOR the purpose of prohibiting persons from fastening, tying, or
anchoring a boat to another person's commercial fishing
equipment or device, except in certain circumstances.

BY adding to

Article - Natural Resources

Section 4-710(i) 4-514

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1983 Replacement Volume and 1988 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Natural Resources

4-710. 4-514.

(I) Except during an emergency, a person may not
fasten, tie, or anchor a boat to another person's commercial
fishing equipment or device including the hedging, stakes, buoys,
or anchors of the equipment or device.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.
