WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor                        Ch. 3

In subsections (c) and (d)(1) of this section, the
requirement that the barber school "hol[d] a school
permit" is added to conform to § 4-602 of this title.

In subsection (d)(2) of this section, the phrase "any
aspect of practicing barbering" is substituted for the
former authority to teach "all practical phases" of
barbering "including theory", which was misleading.
In practice, an assistant barber teacher may teach all
aspects of barbering.

Former Art. 56, § 432A(a)(l), which allowed a licensee
to practice "[f]or compensation", is deleted as
unnecessary in light of the definition of "practice
barbering".

The second clause of the second sentence of former
Art. 56, § 436(b), which required the supervising
barber teacher to "be on the premises", is deleted as
unnecessary in light of the reference to "direct"
supervision.

Defined terms: "Barber" § 4-101

"Barbershop" § 4-101 "Barbershop permit" § 4-101
"Journey barber" § 4-101 "License" § 4-101
