LAWS OF MARYLAND

TO QUALIFY FOR A LICENSE TO TEACH BARBERING, AN APPLICANT
SHALL BE AN INDIVIDUAL WHO MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS
SECTION.

(B)  ASSISTANT BARBER TEACHER LICENSE.

AN APPLICANT FOR AN ASSISTANT BARBER TEACHER LICENSE SHALL:

(1)  BE OF GOOD CHARACTER AND REPUTATION;

(2)  BE A HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE OR THE EQUIVALENT; AND

(3)  HAVE BEEN LICENSED AS A MASTER BARBER FOR AT
LEAST 2 YEARS.

(C)  BARBER TEACHER LICENSE.

AN APPLICANT FOR A BARBER TEACHER LICENSE SHALL:

(1)  BE OF GOOD CHARACTER AND REPUTATION;

(2)  BE A HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE OR THE EQUIVALENT; AND

(3)  HAVE BEEN LICENSED AS A MASTER BARBER FOR AT
LEAST 5 YEARS.

(D)  EXAMINATION.

(1)  AN APPLICANT FOR A BARBER TEACHER LICENSE OR AN
ASSISTANT BARBER TEACHER LICENSE SHALL PASS AN EXAMINATION GIVEN
BY THE BOARD UNDER THIS SUBTITLE.

(2)  AN APPLICANT FOR AN ASSISTANT BARBER TEACHER
LICENSE IS REQUIRED TO PASS ONLY THE PRACTICAL PART OF THE BARBER
TEACHER EXAMINATION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section is new
language added to introduce the basic , requirements
for an applicant for a license.

Subsections (b) through (d) of this section are new
language derived without substantive change from the
first sentence and, except for the reference to fees,
the first clause of the second sentence of former Art.
56, § 435 and the first sentence and, except for the
reference to fees, the second sentence of § 436(a).

In subsections (b) through (d) of this section, the
references to a "barber teacher" or "assistant barber
teacher" are substituted for the former references to
a "barber science teache[r]" or "assistant barber
science teache[r]", for clarity. These substitutions
conform to changes in terminology made throughput this
title.
