Ch. 190

LAWS OF MARYLAND

(II) MUST RENT AT LEAST TWO-THIRDS OF THE
DWELLING UNITS IN THE BUILDING TO FAMILIES OF LIMITED INCOME;

                            (III) MUST PROVIDE CONGREGATE OR GROUP HOUSING

OR TEMPORARY SHELTERS TO FAMILIES OF LIMITED INCOME; OR

(IV) IN THE CASE OF LEAD PAINT ABATEMENT LOANS,
MUST PROVIDE SERVICES FOR CHILDREN, SUCH AS A LICENSED CHILD DAY
CARE FACILITY, IN THE PORTION OF THE BUILDING TO BE ASSISTED BY
THE LOAN.

(F) (1) THE RADON GAS AND ASBESTOS ABATEMENT PILOT PROGRAM
SHALL BE FUNDED IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $100,000 DOLLARS PER
YEAR, WITH MONEYS APPROPRIATED FOR THE LEAD PAINT ABATEMENT
PROGRAM AS PROVIDED IN § 2-313 OF THIS SUBTITLE.

(2) THE RADON GAS AND ASBESTOS ABATEMENT PILOT
PROGRAM SHALL EXPIRE ON JUNE 30, 1990.

(3) SUBJECT TO § 2-1312 OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT
ARTICLE, A REPORT ON THE RADON GAS AND ASBESTOS ABATEMENT PILOT
PROGRAM SHALL BE PRESENTED TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY ON OR BEFORE
DECEMBER 31, 1990.

The Department may:

(1)  In the case of any loans made pursuant to this
subtitle secured by first or junior mortgages, enforce them
according to their terms, foreclose and take title to properties
foreclosed upon, or accept conveyances in lieu of foreclosure;
convey title to purchasers; obtain and enforce deficiency
judgments; permit assumption of mortgages; and contract with
private mortgage servicers to perform functions . ordinarily
performed by such servicers, including foreclosures and the
employment of counsel by the servicers, on behalf of the
Department. Approval or execution by the Board of Public Works is
not required to assign mortgages for value, to release mortgages
when paid, to accomplish foreclosures, to accept deeds in lieu of
foreclosures, or to convey property after acquisition;

(2)  LIMIT THE RETURN ON EQUITY ALLOWED TO SPONSORS
AND NONPROFIT SPONSORS OR ENTER INTO EQUITY PARTICIPATION
AGREEMENTS WITH SPONSORS AND NONPROFIT SPONSORS;

[(2)] (3) Require and obtain appraisals, credit
information, and other information related to making loans;

[(3)] (4) Contract for services relating to any
aspect of the operation of the program in accordance with the
procedures required by law for State contracts;
