nutritional sciences (with emphasis in human nutrition), food and
nutrition, dietetics, human nutrition, community nutrition,
public health nutrition, or equivalent training approved by the
Board; and
(ii) [1. Have satisfactorily completed a
program of supervised clinical or research experience in
satisfaction of the requirements for the master's or doctoral
degree; or]
HAVE SATISFACTORILY COMPLETED A BOARD APPROVED PLANNED,
CONTINUOUS PREPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE COMPONENT IN DIETETIC OR
NUTRITIONIST PRACTICE WHICH CONSISTS OF: :
1. 1. CONSISTS OF NOT LESS THAN 900
HOURS; AND UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A LICENSED DIETITIAN OR
LICENSED NUTRITIONIST; AND
2. A PROGRAM COMPARABLE TO THE
REQUIREMENTS OF THE COMMISSION ON DIETETIC REGISTRATION OF THE
AMERICAN DIETETIC ASSOCIATION.
2. INCLUDES THE HUMAN CLINICAL EXPERIENCE
GAINED WHILE COMPLETING A MASTER'S OR DOCTORAL DEGREE.
[2. Have satisfactorily completed a
comparable experience approved by the Board.]
(f) Except as otherwise provided in this subtitle, the
applicant must pass an examination approved by the Board under
this subtitle.
(g) The applicant shall meet any other qualifications or
requirements that the Board establishes for license applicants.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of
Maryland read as follows:
Chapter 703 of the Acts of 1986
SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That on or before
[July 1, 1987] DECEMBER 31, 1988, the examination and supervised
clinical or research experience as described under Section
4.5-302 OF THE HEALTH OCCUPATIONS ARTICLE will be waived for
those individuals who: (i) meet educational requirements under
Section 4.5-302(d) or (e)(1) OR (2)(I) of [this Act] THE HEALTH
OCCUPATIONS ARTICLE; and (ii) have practiced dietetics for at
least 3 of the last 10 years.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the provisions
of Section 1 of this Act do not apply to those individuals who
