Annotated Code of Maryland

(1986 Replacement Volume and 1987 Supplement)

(As enacted by Chapter 703 of the Acts of the General

Assembly of 1986)

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Chapter 703 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1986
Section 4

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Health Occupations

4.5-302.

(a)  To qualify for a license, an applicant shall be an
individual who meets the requirements of this section.

(b)  The applicant must be of good moral character.

(c)  The applicant must be at least 18 years old.

(d)  The applicant for licensure as a dietitian shall:

(1)  (i) Have satisfactorily completed academic
requirements for the field of dietetics as approved by the Board;

(ii) Have received a baccalaureate degree or a
higher degree from a college or university approved by the Board;
and

(iii) Have satisfactorily completed a program
of supervised clinical experience approved by the Commission on
Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association, or a
comparable experience approved by the Board; or

(2)  Submit to the Board proof of registration through
the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic
Association.

(e)  The applicant for licensure as a licensed nutritionist
shall:

(1)  Meet the requirements of subsection (d) of this
section; or

(2)  (i) Have received a master's or doctoral degree
from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting
body recognized by the Council on Post-Secondary Accreditation in
