WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor Ch. 112

over to the board of county commissioners or county council all
monies received in payment for rentals or leases made under this
section, within thirty days after the receipt thereof. Every
municipal corporation, special tax area or other political
subdivision in the State is hereby authorized and empowered to
rent or lease voting machines in this manner, and to use the same
in any election or referendum vote within its corporate limits or
boundaries, any law, ordinance or resolution to the contrary
notwithstanding.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1988.

CHAPTER 112

(Senate Bill 67)

AN ACT concerning

Family Law - Domestic Violence - Household Members

FOR the purpose of altering the definition of "household members"
under the Domestic Violence Law to include individuals who
are not married but have at least one minor child in common
residing with the petitioner and live together, and certain
spouses who are separated.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 4-501(e)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Family Law

4-501.

(e) "Household members" means:

(1) spouses, parents, INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE NOT MARRIED
BUT HAVE AT LEAST 1 MINOR CHILD IN COMMON RESIDING WITH THE
