AN ACT concerning

Anne Arundel County - Appearance Fees

FOR the purpose of setting a uniform appearance fee in Anne
Arundel County that an attorney-at-law may demand and
receive for bringing, prosecuting, or defending certain
civil and criminal actions.

BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,

Section 7-204(a)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

7-204.

(a) Except in the District Court and except as provided in
this section, an attorney-at-law is entitled to demand and
receive the following fees:

(1)  For bringing, prosecuting, or defending any
action at law in a court of original jurisdiction — $5;

(2)  For prosecuting or defending any action,
including the collection of money due on mortgage, in a court of
equity — $10;

(3)  For prosecuting or defending a case in the Court
of Appeals — $10;

(4)  For prosecuting or defending a criminal case if
the punishment for the offense charged is death or confinement in
the penitentiary — $10;
