(e) Utilization of group or blanket health insurance
benefits by a nurse midwife is subject to review by a peer review
committee appointed by the State Board of [Examiners of Nurses]
NURSING.

(a) In this section "certified nurse practitioner" means a
licensed registered nurse who has completed a nurse practitioner
program approved by the State Board of [Examiners of Nurses]
NURSING and who has passed a Board-approved examination.

(d) Utilization of group or blanket health insurance
benefits by a certified nurse practitioner is subject to review
by a. peer review committee appointed by the State Board of
[Examiners of Nurses] NURSING.

(c) Utilization of group, or blanket health insurance

benefits by a nurse anesthetist is subject to review by a peer

review committee appointed by the State Board of [Examiners of
Nurses] NURSING.

Article - Education

18-804.

[a) (3) "Nurse practitioner" means a nurse practitioner as
defined by the rules and regulations of the State Board of
[Examiners of Nurses] NURSING.

18-805.

(a)  (3) "Nursing shortage area" means a recognized area of
nursing service or specialization, such as gerontological
nursing, in which the State Board of Higher Education,
considering any recommendations of the State Board of [Examiners
of Nurses] NURSING, has determined that there exists a shortage
of qualified nurses.

(b)  (2) The State Board of Higher Education shall identify
and establish nursing shortage areas considering any
recommendations of the State Board of [Examiners of Nurses]
NURSING. The State Board of Higher Education shall review the
established nursing shortage areas annually and make any
appropriate changes.
