SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 48A - Insurance Code

(e) Utilization of nonprofit health insurance benefits by a
nurse midwife is subject to review by a peer review committee
appointed by the State Board of [Examiners of Nurses] NURSING.

(a) In this section "certified nurse practitioner" means a
licensed registered nurse who has completed a nurse practitioner
program approved by the State Board of [Examiners of Nurses]
NURSING and who has passed a Board approved examination.

(d)  Utilization of nonprofit health insurance benefits by a
certified nurse practitioner is subject to review by a peer
review committee appointed by the State Board of [Examiners of
Nurses] NURSING.

(c)  Utilization of nonprofit health insurance benefits by a
nurse anesthetist is subject to review by a peer review committee
appointed by the State Board of [Examiners of Nurses] NURSING.

(e)  Utilization of health insurance benefits by a nurse
midwife is subject to review by a peer review committee appointed
by the State Board of [Examiners of Nurses] NURSING.
