WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor
WHEREAS, The United States Secretary of Transportation has
the necessary powers to adopt regulations in the area of safety
on passenger buses and trains; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That the State
of Maryland requests the United States Secretary of
Transportation to adopt the necessary regulations that require a
yearly check of the traffic violation records of those who
operate passenger trains and buses on the rails and highways of
the United States, and to establish sufficient standards stating
the conditions when an operator's license to drive a train or a
bus shall be suspended; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be forwarded by the
Department of Legislative Reference to the Honorable William
Donald Schaefer, Governor of Maryland; the Honorable Thomas V.
Mike Miller, Jr., President of the Senate of Maryland; and the
Honorable R. Clayton Mitchell, Jr., Speaker of the House of
Delegates.
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded by the
Department of Legislative Reference to the Maryland Congressional

A Senate Joint Resolution concerning
Anne Arundel County - Public Transportation Proposals
FOR the purpose of requesting the Maryland Department of
Transportation and its Mass Transit Administration to
initiate actions which will lead to rapid implementation and
completion of to study certain public transportation
projects in Anne Arundel County.
WHEREAS, The State of Maryland is dedicated to maintaining a
