pathologists to speech-language pathology and
speech-language pathologists, respectively; altering the
education requirements for obtaining a license to practice
audiology; altering the individuals for whom the Board may
waive the requirements for obtaining a license; clarifying
the requirements for obtaining a license for individuals
whose license has been expired for more than 5 years;
altering the requirements for obtaining a limited license to
practice audiology; clarifying the prohibition on the use of
certain terms; and generally relating to the practice of
audiology.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Health Occupations
2-101.
(g) "Practice audiology" means to apply the principles,
methods, and procedures of measurement, prediction, evaluation,
testing, counseling, consultation, and instruction that relate to
the development and disorders of hearing, VESTIBULAR FUNCTIONS,
and related language and speech disorders, to PREVENT OR modify
the disorders or assist individuals in hearing AND AUDITORY AND
RELATED SKILLS FOR COMMUNICATION.

(a) (2) Of the six Board members:
(i) Three shall be licensed audiologists who:
1. Have HAVE at least 5 years paid work
experience in audiology; [and
