Ch. 477

LAWS OF MARYLAND

relating to catch limits for oysters caught by tongs, patent
tongs, or diving at certain times of the year.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That notwithstanding any other law or regulation of the
Department of Natural Resources establishing catch limits for
oysters caught by tongs, patent tongs, or diving, the following
daily catch limits for oysters apply from September 15, 1987
through September 30, 1987:

Method of Catching Oysters
Tongs

Patent Tongs

Diving

Daily Oyster Catch Limit

15 bushels per man and
licensee, not to exceed 45
bushels per boat.

15 bushels per man,
licensee, not to exceed 45
bushels per boat that uses a
single brig, and 60 bushels
per boat that uses a double
rig

20 bushels per boat.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER . ENACTED, That on the
recommendation of the Tidal Fisheries Advisory Commission, the
Department of Natural Resources may extend the catch limits
established under Section 1 of this Act from October 1, 1987
through October 14, 1987.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987.
