CHARTER RESOLUTION NO. 12-85

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common Council of the Town of Union
Bridge have found that certain provisions of the Town Charter are
obsolete and in need of revision so as to enable the town to
properly carry out its mandated functions; and

WHEREAS, Article 23A, Section 13, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland provides for Municipal Charter Amendments by Resolution.

BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE TOWN OF UNION BRIDGE THAT PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY OF
ARTICLE XI-E of the Constitution of Maryland and provisions of
Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1973 repl. vol.),
as amended, titled "corporations-municipal," subtitled "home
rule," to amend the Charter of the Town of Union Bridge, Maryland
as set forth in Sections 20-1 to 20-99 inclusive, of the Carroll
County Code (1976 ed.), as amended, to repeal Section 20-30 of
the Charter of the Town of Union Bridge into enact in its place,
with amendments, a new Section 20-30 entitled "Nomination
Procedure" so as to revise and update as well as eliminate
certain obsolete charter provisions.

of Maryland (1983 Edition), repealed and added.
