AN ACT concerning

Prince George's and Montgomery Counties -
Grants to Local Bus Systems

FOR the purpose of repealing altering a provision of law that
would terminate certain grants to local bus systems in
Prince George's and Montgomery counties on a certain date;
altering a definition of the term "local bus system" to
include a bus transit system operated by a municipal
corporation in Prince George's or Montgomery counties, for
the purpose of authorizing the Secretary of Transportation
to make certain grants to the municipal corporation; making
technical changes; and generally relating to the power of
the Secretary of Transportation to make certain grants to
municipal corporations in Prince George's or Montgomery
counties.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Chapter 689 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1984

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Chapter 689 of the Acts of 1984

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984 [and shall remain effective for a period
of 2 4 years, and at the end of June 30, 1986 June 30, 1988, and
with no further action required by the General Assembly, this Act
shall be abrogated and of no further force and effect].

(a) In this section, "local bus system" means a bus transit
system owned or operated by Montgomery County [or], Prince
George's County, OR A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY
OR PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY.
