JOINT RESOLUTIONS
federal government's share of funding for construction of the
Washington Metro rail system; and be it further
RESOLVED, That this body urges President Reagan and the
Congress of the United States to act vigorously to assure that
the government of the United States provides its full share of
construction funds to complete the entire 101 103 mile Metro rail
system; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be forwarded by the
Department of Legislative Reference to the Honorable Ronald
Reagan, President of the United States, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue,
Washington, D.C; the Honorable George Bush, Vice President of
the United States, United States Senate, Washington, D.C. 20510;
and the Honorable Thomas P. O'Neill, Speaker of the United States
House of Representatives, United States House of Representatives,
Washington, D.C. 20515; and to the Honorable Elizabeth Hanford
Dole, Secretary of Transportation, 400 7th St., S.W., Washington,
D.C. 20590; and be it further

A House Joint Resolution concerning
Washington Metro Rail System - Federal Funding
FOR the purpose of expressing the General Assembly's strong
opposition to any reduction of federal funds for the
construction of the Washington Metro rail system; and urging
President Reagan, the Congress of the United States, the
Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation, the
Secretary of the Maryland Department of Transportation, and
the Washington Metropolitan Council of Governments, to act
vigorously to assure that the federal government provides
its full share of construction funds to complete the entire
101 103 miles of the Metro rail system.
