(d) "Secretary" means the State Secretary of
Transportation.]

[(e)] (C) "Transportation agency" means the Department OF
TRANSPORTATION, any of its units, or the Maryland Transportation
Authority.

[19-102.] 11-150. TRANSPORTATION SELECTION BOARD ESTABLISHED.

There is a Transportation Professional Services Selection
Board in the Department OF TRANSPORTATION, referred to in this
[subtitle] PART XIV as the Transportation Selection Board.

[19-103.] 11-151. SAME - MEMBERSHIP.

(a)  The Transportation Selection Board consists of [four] 4
permanent members and [one] 1 temporary member.

(b)  (1) The [four] 4 permanent members of the
Transportation Selection Board are:

(i) [The] THE Secretary OF TRANSPORTATION, ex
officio, or [his] THE designee OF THE SECRETARY OF
TRANSPORTATION;

(ii) [One] ONE member appointed from the
Department OF TRANSPORTATION by the Governor on recommendation of
the Secretary OF TRANSPORTATION, which member serves at the
pleasure of the Governor; and

(iii) [Two] TWO members appointed from the
general public by the Governor, at least one of whom is not an
architect or engineer and each of whom serves a term of 5 years
and until [his] A successor is appointed and qualifies.

(2)  On recommendation of the Secretary OF
TRANSPORTATION, the Governor may appoint an alternate member to
serve in the absence of the regular member appointed under this
subsection from the Department OF TRANSPORTATION.

(3)  The [two] 2 members appointed from the general
public shall be reimbursed for expenses incurred in the
performance of their duties in accordance with the Standard
Travel Regulations and shall be paid such per diem compensation
for their services as may be provided for in the budget.

(c)  (1) The transportation agency that is presenting a
request to the Transportation Selection Board shall appoint a
temporary member of the Transportation Selection Board.

(2) The temporary member serves only for the purposes
of considering and acting on the request of the transportation
agency by which [he] THE TEMPORARY MEMBER is appointed.
