LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 5

at least 1/2 of 1 percent of the total number of persons on the
lists used as sources of names for the county; but if this number
of names is cumbersome and unnecessary, or inadequate, the plan
may fix a smaller or larger number of names to be placed in the
master wheel. In all cases the number shall be at least 200.
The jury judge may order additional names, selected at random, to
be placed in the master jury wheel as he considers necessary.
The plan shall provide for periodic emptying and refilling of the
master jury wheel at specified times and shall assure that this
periodic refilling places in the master jury wheel names from
voter registration lists used in the general election preceding
the time of refilling;

8-212.

(b) Until the master jury wheel has been emptied and
refilled in accordance with [§ 8-202(b)] § 8-202(2) of this title
and every person who is selected to serve as a juror before the
master wheel was emptied has completed his service, the contents
of any records or papers used by the jury commissioner or clerk
in connection with the jury selection process may not be
disclosed, except as necessary for the preparation of a motion
under subsection (a), (b), or (c) of § 8-211. The parties in a
case may inspect, reproduce, and copy these records or papers at
any reasonable time during the preparation and pendency of the
motion.

DRAFTER'S NOTE: This corrects stylistic errors in an
internal reference in § 8-202(2)(ii) and in a
cross-reference in § 8-212(b) of the Courts and
Judicial Proceedings Article.

The stylistic errors occurred when the former
subsections in § 8-202 were redesignated paragraphs as
part of a stylistic correction in Ch. 255 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of 1984.

The stylistic errors were noted by the Michie Company.
