   93                                  Novembr Court 1716
   And the Grand Jury having found a bill against the afd James which
   folls viz Kent County Maryland Ss The Jurors for our Ld Proprietor & the
   body of Kent County afd upon their Oath do present that James Roe late
   of Kent County afd Labourer the twenty Second day of October in the Year
   of our Ld one Thousand Seven hundred and Sixteen by force and Armes
   &ca. Att Morgans Creek upper hundred in the County afd the Mansion house
   of a certain William Edwards about the Second hour in the night of
   the Same day Entred The Said William and Susanna his wife with .
   others in the Said house then and there being in the peace of God &
   the Ld Proprietor & the Said William Edwards and Susanna his wife
   in Such a manner did assault and the Said William and Susanna then—
   and there did beat wound and will entreat So that of their lives it was
   greatly dispaired of against the peace of our Sd Ld Proprietor his Rule
   & dignity &ca.   Johnson pr Dmi Prop on the back of the afd bill -
   was Endorsed vizt. Billa vera pr me Simon Wilmer Fforeman~
   Evid.es Wm Wilshier Presilla Wilshier Lucknor Middleton——
   The afd James in his propr person aprs. to the afd Indictmt. and Saith
   that he Cannot gainsay the Same and Saith that as to what is
   laid in the afd Indictment he Submits to the Court : Therefore
   it is Considered by the Court here viz this twenty third day
   of Novemb.r Anno Domi one Thousand Seven hundred and —
   Sixteen that the afd James Rae be find the Sume of one hundred
   pounds of Tobacco on Accot of assaulting the afd William Edwards
   & Susanna his wife as Also pay the Sume of Three hundred .
   and twenty Eight pounds of Tobacco Cost on the promises afd to
   the officers of this Court~ ——
   William Edwards & Susanna his wife be bound by Recognize.
   as prosecutors ag.st the afd James Rae by the afd Justice in the Sume
   of five pounds Sterlg. they both appr. to the Same This Court~.
   here discharges the Same Recognizance
