   his body before his Said Ld Ships Justices of the next Court to be held at our Court~
   house in the Town of Chester in Said County to answ^r unto William Smith of a—
   plea of Trespass on y^e Case and that he have then and there the Said writ &c^a.
   Att which Said next Court viz^t the twentieth day of Novemb^r y^e Same year
   last mentioned the day of return of Said writ Came William Frisby Gent high
   Sherf of Said County and made return thereof in these words thereon endorsed
   as foll^s viz.^t Cepi Corpus p^r W^m Ffrisby Sher^f— And now at this Court
   the Said Deft~ being Called came and the S^d Plt~ haveing Declared ag.^st
   the Said Plt~ by Thomas Bowne his att^ry prays that the Said Deft
   may give Special Baile to y^e afd Accõn which is granted and that he
   be kept in Safe Custody by y^e Sherf of Said County untill he Shall give
   Special baile as afd ——— After which Jonas Lanham of S^d
   Coty here in Court cometh and acknowledges himselfe as Special baile
   in the afd Accõn and doth undertake for the afd Deft the paym^t of
   the Damages afd mentioned & Cost accruing if in case the S^d Deft~
   Shall be cast in the Same and the Condemnation Shall not Satisfie
   nor himselfe to the Custody of the Sherf of Said County deliver or
   that the Said Jonas the body of the Said John Jones Shall not~
   render &c^a— . After which y^e S^d Deft~ In his proper person app^rd to
   y^e afd Accõn and prayd liberty to imparle and to answer thereto at-
   next Court which is granted the Same day is given the Plt~ also —

Anthony Knoulman	\|	called came and the S^d Plt by Thomas Bowne his

John Burk ——	\|	Safe Custody by the Sherf of S^d Coty untill he Shall

Antho Baker ——	\|	Sitting w^ch. was granted. And y^e Plt by James Earle
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~		his att^ry prayd he might give Sp^l. baile w.^ch was

   granted and that y^e Sherf S^d Coty keep him in Safe Custody untill he Shall give
   Sp.^l baile to y^e afd Accõn~ rule given y^e Plt put in Surty for Cost w^ch. is granted
   on w^ch. James Earle Saith that if y^e Plt is cast in y^e Same if he do not pay y^e Cost
   on the Same he will do it for him . After w^ch the Said Plt~ by his afd Att^ry
   Agrees the S^d Accõn- &c^a —
