   Thurday this Court appoints to Lay ye Levey
   James Smith Clarke of this Court takes the Oath of abjuration
   and Subscribes the Same and Test~ ——
   Mr. John Sloan one of the Attrys of this Court takes the Oath of
   abjuration and Subscribes the Same and Test~ ———
   George Worsley Cryer of this Court takes the Oath of abjuration
   and Subscribes the Same and Test~. ———
   Mr. Thomas Bowne one of the attrys of this Court takes the Oath
   of abjuration and Subscribes the Same and Test~. ——


The Grand Jury returns the bill of Indictment which
   His Ldship - | folls vizt. Kent County Ss The Jurors for the Lord pro:
        at | :prietor & the Body of Kent County upon their Oath do
   Sar Straighton | prsent that Sarah Straighton Spinster late of ye Sd —


County Servt. to Edward Holman of Said County Planter
   the first day of March in the Year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred
   & fifteen at South Sassafras hundred in the County afd & within the
   Jurisdiciõn of this Court & at divers other days & times as well before
   as after the fear of God before her eyes not having but by ye Instiga:
  :tion of ye devill did Comitt fornication with a certain John Murphey
   and thereby did Suffer her selfe to be gott with Child to the high—
   displeasure of Almighty God the evill Example of others and against
   the peace of the Ld Proprietor his rule and dignity and against~
   the forme of an Act of Assembly of this Province in that Case made
   and Provided                                               Johnson pr Domi proprtor -
   on the back of the preceeding Indictment was Endorsed as folls vizt. Billa
   vera   pr me Simon Wilmer foreman—
    And the Said Sarah being called came and in her proper person—
   appeared to the Same . .   ordered by the Court here that She prove
   the person that did Commit fornication with her   on which She takes
   her oath on the holy Evangilists of Almighty God that a Certain John
   Murphey was the person that did committ fornication with her and
   that was the father of her Child   And on which She Submits to
   the Court on the premises afd and Saith that She is guilty of the—
   premises afd as afd mentioned Therefore it is Considered by —
   the Court here vizt. this Twentieth day of Novemb.r Anno Domi. -
