   42                                     August Court 1716
   Jonathan Page | Commanded it was to the Sherf of K.t County the
           at | twenty fourth day of March in the first year of his Ld
   John Hodges    | Ships Dominion &ca. That he take John Hodges late
   of Kent County afd Mariner if he Should be found in his Baylwick & him—
   Safe keep So that he have his body before his Said Lord Ships Justices of the
   next Court to be held at our Court house in the Town of Chester in Said
   County to Answer unto Jonathan Page of a plea of Trespass upon the
   Case and that he have then and there the Said writ &ca. Att which
   Said next Court viz the nineteenth day of June the day of return
   of Said writ Came William Frisby Gent high Sherf of Said County
   and made return thereof in these words thereon Endorsed as folls vizt
    Non Est Inventus pr Wm Ffrisby Sher
    Likewise Commanded it was to the Sherf of Kent County the
   Twentieth day of June in the Second Year of his Ld Ships Dominion
   &ca. That he take John Hodges late of Kent County afd Mariner if he
   Should be found in his Baylwick and him Safe keep So that he —
   have his body before [his] Said Lord Ships Justices of the next Court-
   to be held at our Court house in the Town of Chester in Said County -
   to Answr. unto Jonathan Page of a plea of Trespass upon the Case
   and that he have then and there the Said writ &ca.
    Att which Said next Court viz.t the Twenty first day of August the Same
   year last mentioned the day of return of Said writ Came William—
   Frisby Gent high Sherf of Said County and made return thereof in
   these words thereon Endorsed as folls viz.t Non Est Inventus pr Wm~.
   Ffrisby Sherf    .    .    .
   And now at this Court cometh the Said Plt~. by Thomas Bowne
   his Attry and prays that the Said Plt might Prove his accot~. against~
   the Said Deft~. on which the Said Plt Came and took his Corporall
   oath on ye holy Evangilists of Almighty God and Saith his Accot~. agst.
   Capt. John Hodges in Just and true and that he is Indebted to him on—
   [b]alance the Sume of two pounds nineteen Shillings and three pence
   Currant money & two hundred and tenn pounds of Tobacco and the
   Same Plt by his afd Attry prays Judgment for an Attachment against~
   the [Goo]ds & Chattells rights & Credits of the Said Deft~ for the afd Sumes
   and [Co]st thereon accruing Therefore it is Considered by the Court~
   here vizt. this twenty first day of August Anno Domini one thousand
   Seven hundred and Sixteen that the afd Plt~ Jonathan Page for the
