                               August Court 1716                                         [37] 
   the afd Plt. by John Johnson his attry prays that the afd Deft~. may give
   Special bayle to the above accõn on which the Court desires that he will
   make appear Some Damages on the accõn afd The afd John Johnson~
   takes his Corporall Oath on the holy Evangelists of Almighty God and
   Saith   that the Damages in the accõn afd on which he will declare
   is above tenn pounds Sterling   this Court here grants Special bayle—
   in the accõn afd and that William Frisby Gent high Sherf of Said County.
   keep the afd Philip Eilbeck in Safe Custody untill he Shall give Speciall
   bayle to the afd Accõn—
   John Williams | Commanded it was to the Sherf of Kent~.
       — at — | County the twentieth day of June in the
   William Jones - | Second year of the Dominion of his now Lord
   ~~~~~~~~~~~~ | Ship &ca. That he take William Jones late of .
   Kent County Cordwainer alis Dics William Jones of Steel pone [?] in Kent~
   Coty. greeting if he Should be found in his Baylwick & him Safe
   keep So that he have his body before his Said Lord Ships Justices
   of the next Court to be held at our Court house in the Town of Chester
   in Said County to Answer unto John Williams of a plea that he
   render to him ye full & just Sume of Eleven pounds twelve —
   Shillings Currant money which to him he oweth & from him unjustly
   detaineth &ca. And that he have then and there the Said writ &ca. at
   which Said next Court vizt. this twenty first day of August the Same
   [day?] last mentioned the day of return of Said writ Came William—
   Frisby Gent- high Sherf of our Said County And made return —
   thereof in these words thereon Endorsed as folls vizt [Non] Est— -
   Inventus pr Wm Ffrisby Sherf    But a Declaration being fild when—
   Said writ Issued forth and a copy thereof [Exp]ressing the true cause of —
   Accõn left at the Court house According to Act [of] Assembly in Such Case
   made was as folls vizt. K[t Cou]nty [S]s William Jones late of Kent County Cord=
  :wainer alis Dics William J[one]s of Steelpone in Kent County in ye Province
   of Maryland Cordwainer was Summoned to Answer unto John Williams of
   a plea that he render to [h]e ye full & just Sum of Eleven pounds twelve—
   Shillings Currant money which to him he oweth & from him unjustly
   detaineth &ca.    .    .    and Whereupon the Said John by Thomas —
   Bowne his attry Saith that whereas ye afd William the first day of May
   Anno Domini Seventeen hundred and Sixteen at Kent County afd within
   ye Jurisdiciõn of this [Co]urt by his certain writing obligatory which ye:
   Said William Sealed with his Seale and as his deed delivered hereint[o]
