    361                               March Court 1717
   in Kent County within the Jurisdiciõn of this Court was Indebted unto the
   afd Plt. in the Sume of one hundred and Eight pounds of Merchantable
   Tobacco for one Levey of one Taxable then and there due from Sd Deft
   to the Said Plt. the Said Plt~. then and there being high Sherf of—
   Said County and So thereof being indebted the afd Deft~. In Consideration
   thereof then and there faithfully promised that he the Sd Deft~. the
   afd Sume of One hundred & Eight~ pounds of Merchantable Tobacco
   to the Said Plt~ when thereunto required would well & truly pay &
   Content~ and that Whereas also the afd Deft~ afterwds vizt. the
   third day of Janry. in the Year of our Lord Christ one Thousand Seven—
   hundred and fifteen at the Parish County and Jurisdiciõn afd was
   Indebted unto the afd Plt. in the Sume of One hundred and fifty -
   five pounds of Merchantable Tobacco for one Levey of one —
   Taxable then and there due from the Said Deft~ to the Said Plt~.
   the Said Plt~. then & there last mentioned being high Sherf. of
   the Said County and So thereof being Indebted the afd Deft~. In
   Consideration thereof then and there last mentioned faithfully .
   promised that he the Said Deft~. the afd Sume of one hundred
   & fifty five pounds of Merchantable Tobacco to the Said Plt~. when—
   thereunto required would well and truly pay and Content~
   and that Whereas also the afd Deft~ afterwds vizt. the third day -
   of Janry. in the Year of our Lord Christ one Thousand Seven hundred
   and Sixteen at the Parish County & Jurisdiciõn afd was Indebted —
   unto the afd Plt~. in the Sume of Two hundred and Twenty one
   pounds of Merchantable Tobacco for one Levey of one Taxable then
   and there last mentioned due from the Said Deft~ to the Said Plt.
   the Same Plt. then and there last mentioned being Sherrife of~
   the Said County and So thereof being Indebted the afd Deft~ In Consi:
  :deration thereof then and there last Sd faithfully promised that he
   the Said Deft~ the afd Sume of Two hundred and Twenty one pounds
   of Tobacco unto the Said Plt. when thereunto required would well &
   truly pay & Content~ Nevertheless the afd Deft~. his Promises and Assump
  :tion afd in forme afd made litle minding but fraudulently intending
   him the Said Plt~. in that behalfe to deceive & defraud the afd Severall
   Summes of Tobacco which in the whole amounts unto the Sume of~
   four hundred & Eighty four pounds of Tobacco to the Said Plt~ altho afterwds
   vizt. the Eighteenth day of October in the Year of our Lord Christ~ one
   Thousand Seven hundred and Seventeen he the Said Deft~. was at the .
   Parish County and Jurisdiciõn afd by the afd Plt. thereunto required hath not
