                                          March Court 1717                                          344 
   of all manner of trash end ground leaves with Cask to Contain the Same of the
   afd value of Twenty five pounds Sterling money Convenient at the then—
   dwelling Plantation of the Said Nathaniel in Kent County afd on or before
   the tenth day of October next Ensuing the date of the Said Bill Yett the afd
   Nathaniel altho’ often required the afd full and Just Sume of two —
   Thousand & five hundred pounds of Tobacco to the afd Thomas hath
   not rendered or paid or cause to be rendered or paid but that to the Sd
   Thomas to render or pay or cause to be rendered or paid the Said —
   Nathaniel hitherto hath denied and Yet doth deny and unjustly
   detain to ye damage of the Said Thomas fifty pounds Sterling
   money and thereupon he brings Sute &ca
                                    TBowne in pr persona pls &ca. Jno&Doe
                                                                                    Rd Roe—
   And the Afd Deft in his proper person appears to the above Accõn
   and Saith that he Cannot gainsay the Accõn afd of him the Said
   Plt nor but that the bill obligatory above mentioned is his Act
   and deed and that he oweth unto the afd Plt the afd Sume
   of Two Thousand five hundred pounds of Tobacco and is willing
   that Judgment Should be Entered for the Same and Cost thereon~
   Accruing :    Therefore it is Considered by the Court here vizt this
   Twentieth day of March Annoque Domini One Thousand Seven
   hundred and Seventeen That the afd Plt Thomas Bowne do
   recover against the Said Deft~ Nathaniel Pearce as well~
   the afd Sume of Two Thousand five hundred pounds of Tobacco
   Debt as also the Sume of Three hundred Sixty Six pounds of Tobacco
   Cost by the afd Plt about his Sute in this behalfe Expended and
   by the Court here of his assent adjudged and the Said Deft in~
   mercy

   William Thornton | in the Second Year of his Lordships —

   Thornton of Kent County Planter alis Dics William Thornton of Kent
   County in ye Province of Maryland Gent~. if he Should be found in his
   Bailywick and him Safe keep So that he have his body before his
   Said Lord Ships Justices of the next Court to be held at our Court —
   house in the Town of Chester in Said County to Answer unto Henry
   Hendrickson of Cecil County in ye afd Province Planter of a plea
