   Simon Tillett for the afd Sume of Eight Thousand pounds of Tobacco —
   Damages on Accot of the Said Deft not performing his Promise and -
   Assumption as afd as also the Sume of Two hundred and Eighty Six
   pounds of Tobacco Cost by the afd Plt~. about his Sute in this behalfe
   Expended and by the Cort. here of his assent adjudged &ca

   Thomas Bowne | Commanded it was to the Sherf of Kent
          at | County the Twenty third day of November in
   Nathaniel Pearce | the Second Year of his Lord Ships Dominion

&ca. That he take Nathaniel Pearce of Kent
   County Planter alis Dics Nathaniel Pearce of Kent County Planter if he Should
   be found in his Bailywick and him Safe keep So that he have his body
   before his Said Lord Ships Justices of the next Court to be held at our
   Court house in the Town of Chester in Said County to Answer unto -
   Thomas Bowne of a plea that he render to him the full and Just Sum
   of two Thousand & five hundred pounds of good Sound Merchantable—
   leafe Tobacco clear of all manner of trash & ground leaves with Cask to
   Contain the Same of the value of Twenty five pounds Sterling money
   which he unjustly detains &ca And that he have then and there the
   Said writ &ca. Att which Said next Court vizt. the Eighteenth day of~
   March the Same Year last~ mentioned the day of return of Said writ
   Came Simon Wilmer Gent high Sherf of Said County and made return
   thereof in these words thereon Endorsed as folls vizt. Cepi Corpus pr —
   Simon Wilmer Sherf And A Decln being fild when Said writ Issued
   forth and a Copy thereof Served therewith according to Act of—
   Assembly in Such Case made was as folls vizt. Kent County Ss. Nathaniel Pearce
   of Kent County Planter alis Dics Nathaniel Pearce of Kent County Planter
   was Summoned to answer unto Thomas Bowne of a plea that he render
   to him the full and just Sume of two Thousand & five hundred pounds of
   good Sound Merchantable leafe Tobacco clear of all manner of trash & -
   ground leaves with Caske to Contain the Same of ye value of Twenty five
   pounds Sterling money which he unjustly detains &ca And Whereupon
   the afd Thomas in proper person Saith that whereas the afd Nathaniel the
   Twenty Seventh day of May in the Year of our Lord Christ Seventeen—
   hundred & Sixteen at St. Pauls Parish in Kent County afd within the Jurisdiciõn
   of this Court By his Certain Bill obligatory which he the Said Nathaniel
   Sealed with his Seale and as his deed delivered here into Court brought the
   date whereof is the Same day & Year afd Bound himselfe to pay or Cause
   to be paid unto the afd Thomas the afd full and just Sum of two Thousand
   & five hundred pounds of good Sound Merchantable leafe Tobacco clear
