    269                              November Court 1717
   County here in Court cometh and Acknowledges himselfe as Special
   baile in the afd Accõn and doth undertake the payment of the debt~
   afd and Cost thereon accruing if in Case the afd Plt. Shall obtaine
   Judgment against the Said Deft~ and the Said Deft. the Condemna:
  :tion Shall not Satisfie nor himselfe to the Custody of the Sherf of
   Said County deliver or that the afd George Gleaves the body of~
   the Said Deft~ Shall not render &ca. .
   After which the Said Deft came into Court and in his proper
   person appeared to the afd Accõn And Saith that he cannot~.
   gainsay the accõn afd of him the Said Plt nor but that the —
   writing obligatory afd above mentioned is his Act and deed
   and that he oweth unto the afd Plt. the afd One likely Young
   Mary of three or four Years old and is willing that Judgment~
   Should be entered for the Same and Cost thereon Accrueing =
   Therefore it is Considered by the Court here vizt. this —
   twenty first day of November Anno Domini one Thousand
   Seven hundred and Seventeen That the afd Plt William Thornton
   Recoved against the Said Deft~ William Furbush as well
   the afd One likely Young Mare of three or four Years old —
   the debt afd as also the Sume of Three hundred and five pounds
   of Tobacco Cost by the afd Plt. about his Sute in this behalfe—
   Expended and by the Court here of his assent adjudged and the
   Said Deft~ in mercy &ca—

   and him safe keep So that he have his body before his Said Lord Ships -
   Justices of the next County Court to be held at our Court house in the Town of
   Chester in Said County to Answer unto William Sweatnam & John—
   Whittington of a plea that he render to them ye Just Sum and neate
