   The Sherf of Said County publishes the Acts of assembly made last Sessions
    His Lord Ship | Maryland Kent County Ss The Jurors for the Hon.ble the Lord -
               at | Proprietor and the body of Kent County upon their Oath do
    Edward Crew. | present that Edward Crew late of South Sarsafrax Lower —

Hundred Planter the Second day of October in the Year of our
   Lord one Thousand Seven hundred & Sixteen & at divers other days & times as
   well before as after at South Sarsafras hundred afd the fear of God before his
   Eyes not having but by Instigation of the devil did Committ fornication w.th
   a Certain Rosamond Debrulah and did thereby did begitt a child on the body
   of the Said Rosamond to ye high Displeasure of Almighty God & to ye evill &
   pernicious Example of others & against the peace of our Said Lord Proprietarie
   his rule & dignity & against the form of an Act of Assembly of this province
   now in force in Such Cases made & provided &ca. Johnson pr Dni proprietarie
    Billa Vera pr me Thos Ringgold foreman     Evidence Rosamond Debrula[h]
    Thereupon Command was given to the Sherf of Kent County the twentieth
   day of June in the third Year of his Lord Ships Dominion &ca. That he cause
   to Come Edward Crew late of South Sarsafras Lower Hundred Planter if he
   Should be found in his Bailywick that all Excuses and delays be Sett ap.t~
   he be and appear before the Justices of our next County Court to be held at our
   Court house in the Town of Chester in Said County to Answer unto a Certain-
   presentment found against him by the grand Jury for Committing fornica:
  :tion with a Certain Rosamond Debrulah &ca. And that he was to have —
   then and there the Said precept~ &ca. Att which Said next Court vizt. the
   twentieth day of August the Same year last mentioned the day of return—
   of Said precept came Simon Wilmer Gentn. high Sherf of Said County and —
   made return thereof in these words thereon Endorsed as folls vizt. Summoned
   pr me Simon Wilmer. Sherff- .   And the afd Edward being called Came and
   in his proper person [ap]peared to the afd Indictment~
     And the afd Edward comes into Court and Saith that he Cannot gainsay -
   but that he is guilty of what is layd in the afd Indictment~ and Submits to
   the Court on the Same   Therefore it is Considered by the Court here vizt.
   this twenty first day of August Anno Domini One Thousand Seven—
   hundred and Seventeen That the afd Edward Crew pay the Sume of Thirty
   Shillings Currant money debt according to Act~ of Assembly in Such Cases made
   for his offence of Committing fornication wth. the afd Rosamond Debrulah-
   as also the Same of two hundred fifty Six pounds of Tobacco Cost accruing on~
   the Premises afd The Said Edward Crew acknowledges that the Said Rosamond
   Debrulah was hired to him in the time that the fornication was Committed
   ordered by the Court here that the Said Edward pay all Charges on Accot
